General Questions

Intuit Practice Management allows you to efficiently manage your practice workflow from one web-based application. It integrates client management, engagement tracking and time & billing across your existing Lacerte and QuickBooks applications, while synchronizing client data across all applications.
What features are included within Intuit Practice Management?
Intuit Practice Management comes with three core components that are focused on Client Management, Engagement Tracking and Time & Billing. It also comes with a robust reporting utility for analyzing the productivity of the firm.
How do I know if Intuit Practice Management is right for me?
Intuit Practice Management is best for firms who have reached a stage of growth in where it has become challenging to manage the different aspects of their practice workflow. Firms that experience the greatest benefit from Intuit Practice Management tend to experience challenges relating to: wasting time duplicating data entries across Lacerte and QuickBooks, keeping track of all of the firm's engagement along with status and due date details, or staying on top of time tracking and invoicing. Because it is web-based, Intuit Practice Management is also great for firms that have remote employees.
What applications does Intuit Practice Management integrate with?
Intuit Practice Management integrates with the most recent version of Lacerte (Lacerte 2010), as well as QuickBooks (QuickBooks 2008-2011).
How does Intuit Practice Management synchronize data across Lacerte and QuickBooks?
Intuit Practice Management leverages an installed desktop sync agent that seamlessly connects your Lacerte data files and QuickBooks files to your secure Practice Management solution. The sync agent resides on the system where the Lacerte and QuickBooks applications are being hosted, and it facilitates the process of periodically pushing and pulling updates across Intuit Practice management and the other applications. The sync agent can be engaged manually, or it can be configured to sync at a desired frequency.
How does Intuit Practice Management protect my data?
Intuit Practice Management is a web-based solution that leverages the 128-bit data encryption protocol that is based on the same processes and security procedures as Intuit's proven e-File security and online banking systems. It is also supported by a built-in data backup and recovery system.
When will Intuit Practice Management be commercially available?
The first version release of the pilot for Intuit Practice Management was a great success, and we are working hard to build in improvements suggested by customers. We will be releasing a second version later this year. We will launch commercially once we have proven the commercial readiness of the solution with pilot testers.
