Before you can file returns electronically, you must become an authorized e-file provider. In this section, we'll show you how to register online for the IRS' e-services feature, enabling you to fill out and update Federal Form 8633, Application to Participate in the IRS e-file Program. You will also learn how to print, complete, and mail a blank From 8633, and be provided with links to related e-file information. Being accepted into the IRS e-file program is your first step towards preparing to e-file tax returns in Lacerte.
